Welcome to the official blog of the Global Analyst.

The Global Analyst is a student written, student run journal of international affairs. The Analyst was founded in spring of 2008 by a group of Georgetown University undergrads who decided students needed their own forum to discuss international affairs. The journal is still in its infancy but has already produced two issues  with articles on topics such as opium production in Pakistan, US engagement with China, fears of protectionism and terrorism in Nigeria.

The blog will serve as a means to continue the conversation between full issues. Global events happen quickly and we intend for this blog to do so as well. Global Analyst staff will be in and out writing posts on major world events.

Since I’ve introduced the blog, I might as well introduce myself. My name is Nick Bunker and I’m the new Editor-in-Chief of the Global Analyst. I’m a rising senior at Georgetown where I’m majoring in International Economics in the School of Foreign Service. I plan on writing on a whole host of issues but except a concentration on international trade, US foreign policy, the environment, South Asia, and international sports (only 335 days till the World Cup).

Our other contributor should be around soon with a post on why Robert Mugabe deserves a medal. I can’t wait either
